LEARNING SOMETHING NEW TAKES TIME. ASKING YOUR DOG TO KNOW HOW TO CHANGE THEIR BEHAVIOR OR LEARN SOMETHING NEW CANNOT BE DONE IN A DAY OR A WEEK. THE TIME YOU PUT IN TO YOUR DOGS TRAINING WILL HELP ENSURE A LIFETIME OF SUCCESS. EVERYONE HAS HEARD “SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE”. COMMITTING TO YOUR DOG IS THE PRIORITY HERE.
TRAINING.
ASKING YOUR DOG TO DO SOMETHING OVER AND OVER AGAIN UNTIL THEY FINALLY DO IT IS NOT TRAINING. TRAINING IS A SKILL THEY WILL LEARN FROM YOU BY THE WAY YOU TEACH THEM. THIS SKILL COULD BE TO COME WHEN CALLED OR TO STAY IN A PLACE WHERE YOU WANT THEM. THE GOAL IS TO FIND THE BEST METHOD TO TEACH YOUR DOG AND SET THEM UP FOR SUCCESS, NOT FAILURE.
TRANSITIONING.
Each part of your life is a transition. Just like your dog. They start at puppyhood, to adult dog, to senior dog. They develop and learn new things in each of these stages of life. When you adopt a shelter dog and bring them to your home, this is a transition period for them. It's new and can be scary. Your job is to help ease them into this transition comfortably. Giving them enough time to get used to a new environment and what is expected of them, Providing proper training tools they need to succeed, you will be amazed as your dog is transitioning to a more confident and stunning being!
